Job Description

YWCA Banff is a community-based, feminist organization with over 100 years of experience in Banff
and the Bow Valley. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, our organization shapes a safe,
inclusive community that empowers women and girls in support of our vision of a thriving, equitable
society. The YWCA is funded through grants, donor support and revenue from our social enterprise
program – the YWCA Banff Hotel.
All employees play an instrumental role in realizing our organizational goals through their
commitment to our four strategic priorities: programs and services to end gender-based violence; a
continuum of sustainable housing solutions; advancing the rights of women and girls; and building a
sustainable organization.
The primary role of the Manager of Accounting Finance is to lead all finance and accounting
functions within the organization, with support from the Director of Operations and CEO. This
includes preparing the annual budget, financial analysis, overseeing financial reports, accounting
systems, payroll and maintaining accurate and current records.

We are seeking an experienced Manager of Accounting and Finance to oversee the financial health
and operations of our organization. Key responsibilities include:
• Budget Management: Lead annual budget preparation, monitor monthly financial
performance, and report variances to senior leadership and the board.
• Accounting Operations: Manage daily accounting functions, oversee accounts
payable/receivable, track deferred revenue, maintain cash flow, and ensure compliance with
accounting standards. Administer QuickBooks Online and manage bank accounts,
investments, and financial fraud investigations.
• Payroll Oversight: Supervise bi-monthly payroll processing, benefits administration, and
compliance with employment laws. Manage payroll system troubleshooting and support
employee contract administration.
• Financial Reporting: Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior
leadership and the board. Ensure accurate GST, WCB, and tax filings, and prepare special/ad
hoc financial reports.
• Grants and Audits: Support grant applications, ensure compliance with funding agreements,
and manage external and CRA audits.
• Leadership and Training: Train and develop Accounting and Payroll staff, support
remuneration processes, and assist with compensation research and salary planning.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong leadership skills and expertise in
accounting, financial management, and compliance. Join us to contribute to the strategic financial
success of our organization!
