Job Description
Job Summary
This is a great opportunity for an empathetic and community-minded individual with experience in social services to join a team that centers its work on the values of inclusion, collaboration, adaptability, integrity, client autonomy, and a women-centered approach.
The successful candidate will:
· Manage a caseload of clients who access outreach services related to domestic violence, sexual violence, and/or housing insecurity. These services include emotional support, safety planning, system navigation, and goal setting,
· Develop and deliver prevention programming centered on healthy relationships, empowerment & advocacy, leadership, consent and gender-based violence to a variety of audiences.
· Collaborate with community partners to increase access to services.
A Day in the Life
– Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
– Respond to crisis calls and service requests.
– Complete outreach intakes and danger assessments for those experiencing domestic violence, sexual violence, and housing insecurity.
– Maintain an ongoing outreach caseload and deliver services in communities across the Bow Valley as required. Case management includes emotional support, safety planning, system navigation, goal setting, and community referrals as required.
– Complete required documentation, data collection, and outcome tracking.
– Develop and deliver preventative and educational programs on topics such as: healthy relationships, empowerment & advocacy, leadership, consent and gender-based violence to a variety of audiences.
– Represent YWCA Banff on external committees and working groups.
– Develop and cultivate partnerships with Bow Valley service providers and organizations to enhance collaboration and the support system for YWCA Banff clients.
– Provide back-up to the Residential Programs stream
– Participate in after-hours on-call program.
– Participate and/or assist with advocacy and awareness events.
– Other related duties as assigned by the Manager of Advocacy and Community Programs.

Position Details
– This is a full-time permanent position. This position involves a blended model of working onsite at YWCA Banff and in the community and thus requires the use of a personal vehicle.

Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate offers:
- Willingness to participate in professional development, self-reflection, and continued growth.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and with a diverse client population
- Experience in program development and public education
- Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree or diploma in social work, psychology or a related social science field or equivalent work experience
- Registration with a governing body is an asset.
- 2-3 years’ experience working in domestic/sexual violence or homelessness sector.
- Experience in crisis intervention skills including Suicide intervention, de-escalation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to serve clients in line with YWCA Banff guiding principles and advocacy framework.
- Willingness to participate in professional development, self-reflection, and continued growth.
