Job Description

What better place to spend your summer than in Banff? And what better summer job, than “Taking Care of Banff” by exploring with and caring for our community’s children and youth (ages 5 to 15)?

Our summer camp programs focus on outdoor, creative, active, educational, community and out-trip components. The months will fly by as you plan, participate in and lead safe and engaging activities in a variety of environments. On a day-to-day basis your role will support inclusion, self-regulation, and friendship skills at camp. Placements among the team include: Children’s Group Leaders, Youth Outdoor Group Leaders, and Behaviour Specialists.

Job Requirements

If you’ve always loved working with children, have shown community leadership, are hard-working, and invested in positive growth and healthy child development, this may be the job for you. You have experience working with children or youth in a camp or other group setting. Preference is given if you are a post-secondary student in a field of study, such as: Education, Recreation, or Human Services and are returning to school in the fall.

You have standard first aid and CPR certification and can provide an RCMP background check with vulnerable sector clearance by your first date of employment. A class 4 Alberta driver’s license and clear drivers abstract is an asset.

Working safely is a condition of employment at the Town of Banff. The starting wage for this position is $24.00/hour.
