Job Description
Seasonal Bylaw Enforcement Officers in our Municipal Enforcement Department “Take Care of Banff” by interacting with and assisting the Town of Banff’s residents and visitors every day in a number of different ways. From education to enforcement, the scope of your responsibilities is focused and no two days are ever the same. We are a service-oriented department and take pride in prompt, confident and professional response.
During the busy Banff summer, you will spend the majority of your day outside on foot patrol in our downtown core and nearby parks and amenity areas focusing on parking and pedestrian safety issues. As a highly visible, uniformed ambassador for the Town of Banff, you are the face of the department’s commitment in demonstrating the Town of Banff’s Mission and Values including Integrity, Teamwork, Accountability, Efficiency, and Professionalism. You will engage in difficult situations and conversations as part of your job – conflict is an opportunity to educate and you flourish on information and enforcement delivery by demonstrating tact, diplomacy and most importantly, confidence.

Job Requirements
Ideally you are currently enrolled in a post-secondary education program and have an interest in enforcement or criminal justice. You have the physical ability to spend most of your work hours on foot and in all elements of our weather. Previous work or volunteer experience in an enforcement-related field and familiarity with local government functions are very desirable qualities in this position. This position requires working evenings and weekends.
