Job Description
The Whyte in Banff is looking for two highly motivated and team-oriented people to share their passion for the art, history, and culture of this area with a wide variety of museum visitors. This position is 100% focused on visitor experience, whether through tour delivery or greeting and processing museum visitors at our front desk.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Deliver multiple scripted tours to the public and to booked tour groups
• Be present in the galleries and on museum grounds to engage with visitors
• Assist/deliver other interpretive programs, events, and duties as required
• Interact with and process all guests in the front of house area in a professional manner
• Accurately process cash transactions, balance end of shift cash-outs and deposits
• Keep the front of house area neat, clean, sanitized, and organized
• Gather visitor feedback and comments
• Conduct independent reading and tour-based research in the areas of Rocky Mountain art, culture, and history
Training and Scheduling:
• This is a full-time position of 35 hours a week.
• The workweek will consist of a 5-day schedule in both the Education & Visitor Services departments and will include weekends and statutory holidays.
• Candidates must commit to the entire term of work.
• Candidates must adhere to a dress code.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
• Have post-secondary education in the fine arts, art history, history, education, natural history or a related field
• Excellent command of the English language is required. French is an asset
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Experience in interpreting an asset
• Experience in customer service required
• Knowledge or demonstrated interest in the culture, art, and heritage of the Canadian Rockies
• Must be able to stand for long periods (7 hours), indoors and outdoors in all weather
• Be able to lift 20lbs
• Knowledge in Point of Sales systems as asset
• Working knowledge of Windows based computer programs required
• Certification in First Aid/CPR
