Position Overview:
The Disability Management Coordinator administers and facilitates employee leaves and accommodations, with a primary focus on those due to illness and/or injury. This position is responsible for creating, maintaining, and publishing essential tools, forms, procedural documents, and educational resources to ensure smooth processes. Regular communication and case liaison with employees, supervisors, and outside agencies, for timelines, accommodations, and return-to-work planning, are key aspects of this role. The Disability Management Coordinator’s efforts directly contribute to the organization’s goals by promoting employee well-being and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. This position significantly impacts the HR team through collaboration with other HR team members and enhancement of the overall efficiency and effectiveness of leave administration and disability management.

Core Accountabilities:
Provides case liaison between outside agencies, leaders, and employees
Provides support, information and guidance to leaders and staff in coordination of employee Return to Work Plans and Modified Work Agreements
Develops and delivers clear, consistent and legislatively compliant leaves and accommodations processes
Creates, maintains, and publishes essential tools, forms, policies, procedural documents, communications, and educational materials for leaves and accommodations processes.
Responds in a professional and timely manner to inquiries, complaints or suggestions, providing effective follow-up as required
Seeks to understand individual client needs and assists them to find the most appropriate solutions and/or information
Regularly monitors and reports on leaves and accommodations metrics to the HR Manager and other organizational leaders, providing analysis and insights for use in direction, decision-making, and program development

Job Requirements

Education & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent (combined experience and education) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field - Required
Education, experience, and training in disability management and accommodations – preferred
CHRP Designation – asset

Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of HR Generalist experience, including all key HR functions such as; leave administration and disability management, accommodations, employment contract administration, employee benefits administration, hiring, onboarding & orientation, employee records management, health & safety, payroll, employee relations, performance management, labour relations, and employee compensation - Required
Strong working knowledge of Alberta Human Rights legislation and Alberta Employment Standards legislation. – Required
Familiarity with the Mental Health Continuum, as well as mental health practices that mitigate stigma and mental harm, and which promote and build resiliency - Required

Pay Range- $43.48 to $45.89 per hour to start. Compensation will be calculated based on the successful candidate’s related work experience and education
This is a Permanent Full-Time position (35 hours per week)
