Job Description

This position will require you to work the following two positions based on what is needed throughout the day:
CLIMBING GYM CONTROL DESK:
The Climbing Gym Control Desk Agent’s main responsibility is to provide outstanding customer service by ensuring that customers are comfortable, energized and engaged within the climbing wall environment. This position will assist the Climbing Supervisor, Climbing Coordinator, Full time Technicians and Instructors in many capacities such as welcoming new customers, validating waivers, administering orientations, performing maintenance, providing equipment, data input into the software system and performing belay tests.
Education & Qualifications:
• Current Standard First Aid/CPR+AED certification (required)
• Ability to climb in the 5.9 and 5.10 range or higher (required)
• ACMG Climbing Gym Instructor level 1 or equivalent (asset)
Pay rate is $19.40+ /hour commensurate with skills, certifications, and experience. ACMG certifications increase the base rate.
Job Requirements
CLIMBING INSTRUCTOR:
The Climbing Instructor’s main responsibility is to deliver safe and engaging climbing gym programs to our patrons They will create a welcoming and motivating environment through instruction, ensuring that patrons of all ages and skill levels feel encouraged, supported, and excited to climb.
Education & Qualifications:
• ACMG Climbing Instructor Level 1 Certification (required)
• ACMG Climbing Instructor Level 2 or 3 Certification (asset)
• ACMG Apprentice Rock Guide Certification or higher (asset)
• Current Standard First Aid/CPR + AED certification (required)
Pay rate is $23.29+ /hour commensurate with skills, certifications, and experience.
Experience:
· Able to prioritize and work under pressure (required)
· Administrative, leadership, organizational, and communication skills (required)
· Previous work experience in a climbing gym environment (required)
· Previous work experience running youth programs (asset)
· Comfortable managing large groups, including children (required)
· Proven commitment to safety and willingness to abide by all safety procedures and protocols (required)
· Route setting experience (asset)
· Recreational climbing experience (required)
