Job Description

Front Desk Agents make reservations for guests and accurately process payments for stays at the hotel. Upon guests’ arrival, Front Desk Agents warmly greet and welcome guests, complete the registration process, and answer any questions they may have about the hotel, their stay, and the area.

DUTIES
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
– Booking reservations using the property management system, OPERA, inputting all required information, and accepting payment for hotel stays.
– Greeting guests to the hotel and responding to their questions about the hotel, the area, and local attractions.
– Completing the registration and check-in procedures.
– Responding to guests in-person and telephone requests, concerns, and complaints in an appropriate and timely manner.
– Checking guests out following their stay.
– Managing situations that may arise at the Front Desk, such as location changes, high levels of hotel activity, and emergency situations, all while following company procedures.

Job Requirements

This position requires individuals to have excellent communication and customer service skills, a pleasant phone manner, and good computer and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of the surrounding area and attractions is a definite asset. The successful candidate must be willing and able to work a mix of day, evening, and weekend shifts depending upon the schedule. Previous Front Desk reservation experience and knowledge of OPERA would be considered an asset. The minimum education requirement for this position is a high school diploma.
