Job Description
The Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS) is a Federal Government jobs initiative targeted at young Canadians aged 15 to 30. The purpose is to increase employment for youth, enabling them to gain work experience, skills, and to extend their networks. Parks Canada is committed to being a diverse and inclusive workplace by embracing this initiative, and encourages applications by youth facing barriers to employment, in particular Indigenous Canadians, members of a racialized community and persons living with disabilities.
Collect data on trails and visitor use patterns in Banff using various tools, devices, and computer programs. Conduct observational surveys at day use areas and parking lots. Assist with special events in Banff and Calgary. Must be comfortable hiking long distances and be able to push a data gathering stroller (up to 30 lbs) over obstacles such as rocks, and stairs.

Job Requirements
Class 5 driver’s license required.

· Between 15 and 30 years old.
· Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person who had been granted refugee status in Canada.
· Preference may be given to candidates who self-identify as, Indigenous Canadians, members of a racialized community and persons living with disabilities, as well as youth facing barriers to employment. We encourage you to self-identify in your application. 10 week term offers with possibility of extensions. Staff housing may be available.
