Job Description
This position will:
• Develop wildfire risk reduction projects, manage budgets, implement, report on, create and coordinate contracting for Wildfire Risk Reduction (WRR) activities primarily in the Banff Field Unit
• Ensure implementation of project mitigations for all WRR projects in the Banff Field Unit
• Lead creation and coordination for WRR project implementation and planning with Impact Assessment, functional specialists, Indigenous relations, visitor experience, asset management and other staff involved in project activities
• Determine and implement best methods for WRR activities for all projects. Coordinate and negotiate activities with stakeholders, line leaseholders, other affected leaseholders, create MOUs, contribution agreements and briefing notes for field unit Superintendent or others related to WRR projects

Job Requirements
Education
ED1: Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with specialization in environmental and/or natural sciences (e.g. biology, ecology, geology) or other discipline relevant to the position.
Proof of education will be required at time of interview.
Experience
EX1: Recent** and significant** experience managing resource conservation or other science-based projects related to vegetation management or natural resource management
EX2: Experience working with multiple stakeholders or partners to advance projects or initiatives
EX3: Experience creating or substantively reviewing impact assessments for complex resource management projects
EX4: Experience with budget management
Knowledge
K1: Knowledge of the project management standards used by Parks Canada
K2: Knowledge of Wildfire Risk Reduction and Fire management practices and objectives
K3: Knowledge of conservation objectives and constraints in Rocky Mountain ecosystems
K4: Knowledge of forestry practices and ecological restoration principles
Abilities
A1: Ability to analyze and evaluate different strategies and tactics for wildfire risk reduction
A2: Ability to manage projects with short timelines and complex budgets
A3: Ability to work and connect with a variety of people with diverse perspectives
A4: Ability to deliver science-based projects and communicate objectives and results effectively
