Job Description

The Millwright is key member of the Operations group and is responsible for the overall condition and operation of passenger ropeways and surface lifts at LLSR. This position requires the Millwright to perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment to ensure the day-to-day operations of LLSR run smoothly and efficiently.

Wage: Up to $39.25 per hour depending on experience

Job Responsibilities:

-Follow all safety standards during work assignments and maintain work areas in a safe fashion
-Perform routine start-up procedures for passenger ropeways
-Adhere to assembly and installation instructions set forth in vendor manuals and specifications
-Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic problems with associated equipment
-Assist in training lift operations staff and apprentice millwrights
-Ensure that safety policies, quality standards, and standard operating procedures are followed
-Perform preventative maintenance once the machines and equipment are put into operation
-Complete digital records on the LLSR computerized maintenance system
-Ensure ongoing compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation

Job Requirements

-Red Seal Millwright certification
-Previous ski lift or gondola work experience is an asset
-Demonstrated aptitude in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics and manuals
-Ability to troubleshoot machinery and equipment
-Safety oriented, adhere to OH&S responsibility and requirements
-Able to work outside in all weather conditions
-Must possess accurate verbal and written communication skills
-Good physical condition as this position requires some heavy lifting, standing for long periods
-Able to supervise younger workers as required
-A three-month probationary period applies
-A police background check, from your home country or province, will be required upon commencement of employment
-A friendly and professional manner
-First aid certificate is an asset
