Job Description

Overview:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Level 1 Maintenance Technician is responsible for general maintenance tasks, preventive upkeep, and minor repairs to ensure the smooth operation of hotel facilities. This role is also responsible for relief Grounds Person duties two days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities.
Address repairs, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry under supervision.
Respond to guest service requests for maintenance issues.
Assist Level 2 technicians and other maintenance staff in complex repairs and projects.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in maintenance work areas.
Assist with maintaining the property’s grounds by removing garbage, leaves, snow, ice and other debris around the premises.
Maintain walkways and pathways around the property.
Maintain flowers and other landscaping.
Follow all safety protocols and report hazards to supervisors.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements:

Basic knowledge of maintenance procedures and tools.
Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience or experience in a related field.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Progression & Evaluation

Technicians may be promoted from Level 1 to Level 2 based on demonstrated skills, experience, staffing needs and supervisor recommendations.
Performance evaluations will be conducted regularly to assess competencies and readiness for advancement.
Additional training and certifications may be required for progression to Level 2.
