We are seeking an Employment Advisor to join our team and support job seekers in Banff and Canmore. About the Role

As an Employment Advisor, you will assist clients with job searches, resume development, and career planning while connecting them with valuable community resources. You will also be key in maintaining employment resources, tracking client progress, and contributing to outreach efforts, including social media updates. Fluency in English is required for this role. Proficiency in French (preferred), or other language is a strong asset, as we serve a diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities
-Welcome clients, assess their needs, and initiate services.
-Provide job search assistance, resume support, and access to computers.
-Identify suitable job opportunities and connect clients with employers.
-Respond to client inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
-Schedule appointments and facilitate the registration process.
-Maintain accurate records and organize required documentation.
-Share labour market insights and employment trends with clients and the team.
-Stay up to date on local services and employment resources.
-Assist in maintaining physical and online job postings.
-Support social media efforts by creating and monitoring posts.
-Enter data into the Alberta Government tracking system (Compass).
-Establish professional boundaries with clients.
-Conduct follow-up calls to track employment outcomes.
-Assist in training and mentoring new staff.
-Prepare and submit reports as required.
-Take on other projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

What We’re Looking For

Technical Skills:
-Degree or diploma in human services, business, human resources, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience.
-Proficiency in MS Office Suite and general computer skills.
-Knowledge of the local labor market and job search strategies.
-Experience with resume writing and employment support.
-Strong English communication skills (written & oral); Bilingual in English and French (preferred), or other language, is a strong asset.
-Ability to ensure accuracy and quality in all work.

Interpersonal Skills:
-Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on listening and conflict resolution.
-Outgoing, service-oriented, and comfortable working with diverse clients.
