Job Description

The Jeff Walker Gallery is seeking a professional, well-spoken and driven individual to join our team as Gallery Manager. We have two Gallery locations in Banff and Canmore, the ability to work between both locations is a must.

As Gallery Manager you will oversee the daily operations of our Galleries, working closely with each team member. The successful candidate will be a strong leader, with great organization and interpersonal skills, as s/he will be responsible for the commercial and artistic success of the gallery.

We are looking for someone who will be with us long-term and is excited about growth and opportunity for advancement.

You are driven, thoughtful, energetic and pride yourself on providing the highest level of service, professionalism and experience to anyone who walks through our doors. You are a natural communicator and are passionate about art and sharing stories.

Responsibilities:

-Ensure the smooth running of the gallery.
-Conduct regular gallery inspections to ensure cleanliness and organization.
-Maintaining relationships with Printing Partnerships and Collectors.
-Meeting monthly sales goals.
-Training & motivating employees.
-General administration.
-Installation of Artwork Displays.
-Maintaining the upkeep of galleries, having the knowledge to work directly with various trades.
-Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote gallery events and increase sales
-Work collaboratively with other employees to provide support on a wide range of administrative tasks and daily operations.
-Implementing ideas and systems.
-Oversee and manage incoming/outgoing inventory.
-Creating a welcoming environment & providing excellent customer service at all times.
-Provide exceptional customer service to clients, assisting with inquiries and sales transactions

Job Requirements

Skills and requirements for the job:

-Five years of management experience.
-A strong interest in storytelling.
-Knowledge of retail sales techniques and strategies
-Excellent oral and written communication skills.
-A people-person with the ability and confidence to engage with a range of people.
-Local knowledge of the Bow Valley.
-Ability to prioritize & multitask.
-Confident and comfortable using Google Docs, Google Sheets, Monday.com, -Shopify and other CRM software.
-High degree of computer literacy and ability to learn new programs (MAC OS)
-Experience working with Adobe Photoshop.
-Managing our digital art preview design service.
-Available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
-Happy to work in a team environment to continue the growth of the business.
