Job Description

The Interpretive Guides Association (IGA) is a local not-for-profit organization that is looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and creative individual to join our team as a Programs and Operations Coordinator. This contractor role supports the seamless delivery of our courses and certifications, marketing initiatives, and member engagement.

Key Responsibilities
Operations and Course Coordination
• Plan and coordinate the logistics of courses and certifications, ensuring a high-quality experience for participants.
• Act as a primary contact for instructors, providing timely support and managing their schedules and needs.
• Handle inquiries and correspondence, offering professional and helpful communication to members, instructors, and partners.
• Maintain accurate records and data related to course registrations, certifications, and member information.
Marketing and Business Development
• Create and schedule engaging social media content using tools like Canva and Mailchimp to promote IGA’s offerings.
• Assist with newsletters, promotional materials, and website updates (WordPress).
• Help the team represent IGA at local events to foster partnerships and promote programs.
• Support marketing initiatives to attract new clients and grow enrollment in IGA’s courses.

Member and Community Support
• Collaborate with the team to identify opportunities for program enhancements and community engagement.
• Act as an ambassador for IGA, upholding our values and vision in all interactions.
Collaboration and Strategy
• Participate in regular team meetings (via Zoom or in person) to brainstorm and assist with ongoing projects.
• Contribute to organizational growth by identifying opportunities to improve programs, processes, and member engagement.
• Build relationships with local stakeholders to enhance the IGA’s community presence.
• Actively look for areas of improvement and take initiative to implement necessary changes.

Job Requirements

•Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
•Experience in operations or program coordination.
•Creative thinker with a marketing or public relations background (an asset).
•Demonstrates collaboration in diverse team environments, flexibility in remote work, and a commitment to growth and adaptability.
•Familiarity with the guiding community and/or experience in outdoor education or interpretation is a strong asset.
•IGA certification is an asset.
•Fluency in French or other languages is considered an asset.
•Eager to learn, grow, and take on diverse tasks in a dynamic non-profit environment.
•Excellent customer service and communication skills.
•Tech-savvy, with proficiency in tools and platforms such as Canva, Mailchimp, Zoom, WordPress, G-Suite tools, online learning platforms, and other software as needed.
•Reliable internet, own computer with Microsoft, own phone, and workspace.
