Job Description
Community Cruisers is seeking a part-time program coordinator for the Bike All Winter program. This part-time position pays $25/hour and is typically 4-5 hours per week from November 1, 2024 to April 15, 2025. We encourage submissions from applicants of all backgrounds, regardless of race, colour, national origin, religion, creed, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
The Bike All Winter program aims to increase the number and visibility of people using bikes for transportation during the winter months by targeting residents of Canmore and Banff that are currently not using bikes for transportation year round but would like to start. Participants receive assistance to winterize their bike, including free or subsidized winter bicycle tires, lights and fenders, training on winter bike riding, as well as a Bike All Winter Mentor in exchange for a commitment to ride their bike in winter.
The part-time Bike All Winter program coordinator will have the following tasks and responsibilities in Banff and Canmore:
– Overseeing the mentorship program, including matching mentors with mentees, providing structure and following up with mentors to make sure they have what they need, taking on any mentees as needed;
– Working with volunteers and participants to schedule tire changes and follow up with folks to make sure they confirm their appointments;
– Leading group rides;
– Coordinating two photo shoots, one in Canmore and one in Banff, and liaising with the photographer;
– Helping organize two Light My Bike workshops, one in Canmore and one in Banff.

- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Should enjoy riding a bike and be comfortable riding a bike in winter.
- Basic bike maintenance skills are an asset.
