Job Description

General Responsibilities:
● Promote positive mental health through universal and targeted strategies.
● Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate, evidence based programming that meets the objectives of the RFTS/MHCB program to large and small group work in both school and community settings.
● Support positive school culture by creating whole-school events.
● Support social-emotional programming and pro-social clubs
● Work with school staff, parents and community members to increase their knowledge, skills and competence related to mental health.
● Help to identify and facilitate access for individuals who need referral to specialized addiction and mental health services.
● Ensure all relevant documentation is in compliance with Health information Act (HIA) and FOIP and ensures compliance with all relevant AHS policies.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
● At least 2 years working experience in Addiction and Mental health or Health/Human Services related roles preferred. A post-secondary degree or diploma in the social sciences field or relevant courses and experiences.
● Experience with delivering programming for K-9 and comfortable with public speaking.
● Knowledgeable about addiction, mental health and community resources and services in the Bow Valley.
● Familiar with the developmental, educational, emotional, social and recreational needs of children, youth and families in the Bow Valley.
● Strong relationship building skills and effective time management skills.
● Solid comprehension and practice of personal and professional boundaries.
● An initiative taker who is able to work independently as well as part of a team.
● Creative problem‐solving and decision‐making skills.
● Ability to maintain program statistics for purposes of evaluation and assisting in evaluating the effectiveness of programs.
● Employees must have the ability to commute between the Banff/Canmore Communities.
