Job Description
We are seeking a skilled & independent working individual to join our team. This new role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of BVCC as it transitions from a volunteer working board to a sustainable governance board with staff.
Roles and responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate financial records, including tracking income and expenses. Keep all income and expense backups in Dropbox and the binder
• Process payments, invoices, and reimbursements. Prepare supplier payments for signatures/approval
• Advise on simplifying processes for minimum staff time
• Budget preparation and financial reporting for the ED & treasurer and board meetings & AGM.
• Track expenses based on projects/grants (using QBO’s Class feature)
• Manage staff timesheets and process payroll & contractor payments through Wagepoint
• Draft annual reports CRA (T3010), AGLC annual report (Casino/Raffle)
• Ensure compliance with relevant nonprofit & charity financial regulations and prepare documents for audits or reviews
• Monitor grant funding usage and provide financial updates to stakeholders.
• Support grant applications and reports

Employment Location: The Bow Valley – mostly Canmore sometimes Banff, Exshaw etc.
Position Type: Part-Time employee or contract approx. 6 hours/ week
Compensation range: $35-50/ hour (dependent on skills & experience & contract or employee)
Office & hours: Work from home. Flexible hours. Some tasks may require times with BVCC staff or board members.
Start Date: Flexible
Duration: 1 year grant funded from the Calgary Foundation. BVCC reduces programming in July & August so possibility to work reduced hours for these months & extend contract longer than 12 months. BVCC will review the hours & tasks of the contract with a view for extension dependent on future funding.

Bow Valley Connections Centre, is a 10 year old small non profit charity providing a safe & inclusive environment for people with developmental disabilities to connect. BVCC’s vision is that every person has a sense of belonging and thrives. We enhance quality of life by fostering social connections, personal growth and involvement in the community. Our events, workshops and activities foster participation and inclusion. BVCC existing staff includes a 15 hr/ week Executive Director & a 30 hr/ month Programmer that facilitates BVCC core programs.
Job Requirements
Qualifications, skills, experience:
o Relevant experience and/ or qualifications in non profit finance.
o Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
o Proficiency in Non-profit/Charity specific bookkeeping using Quickbooks Online & Microsoft office suite
