Job Description
Guiding small group multi-day hotel and/or camping tours. The set tour itinerary length are usually 16-21 days in length and the trip itinerary spans both Alberta and BC. These are active day hiking, sightseeing, and multi-activity tours with small german speaking groups of between 8 – 12 participants. Each tour itinerary either starts in Calgary or Vancouver and clients depart from the opposite city with the subsequent tour then running in reserve. All transportation is organized with 15 passenger vans that may include a small trailer for transportation of luggage and camping gear. Guides are also the primary drivers on these tours. These tours include some of the best highlights of western Canada such as: Banff, Lake Louise, the ice-field parkway, Jasper, Wells Gray Provincial Park, Revelstoke, southern BC, Whistler, and Vancouver Island

Job Requirements
- 40 hour Wilderness First Aid minimum requirement (80 hour Wilderness First Responder Preferred)
- Alberta Drivers Licence Required, Class 4 Drivers licence required
- The ability to speak german (Guides are not required to be native German speakers but they should be able to communicate effectively in basic German)
- IGA assistant hiking guide certification, equivalent ACMG hiking guide certification required. Higher level of certification an asset
- Previous hiking guide experience or other guiding a strong asset
- Be in good physical shape and ability to lead and join in on all scheduled day hikes
