Operating under the Basecamp portfolio for the 2nd summer, Sundance by Basecamp is a newer addition to the Basecamp properties. Sundance by Basecamp offers a glamping experience in trapper’s tents and tipis in the heart of Kananaskis Country overlooking the Kananaskis river. A true wilderness getaway for families, friends, and couples, surrounded by Canada’s Rockey Mountains and endless opportunities for outdoor adventures.

Position Overview
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for all property maintenance of Sundance. The Maintenance Supervisor will create and manage the preventative maintenance program for all sites and buildings on the Sundance property and will assist with ensuring optimal distribution and use of material, and financial resources within the property’s budgets.

Salary: $24 per hour
Shifts: Full-time/Permanent with weekend availability

Key Areas Responsibilities and Accountability

Preventative Maintenance
– Creates annual maintenance budgets and preventative maintenance schedules for Sundance.
– Looks for opportunity that may be available to save on expenses.
– Carry out Preventative Maintenance procedure as created by Director of Facilities.
– Make suggestions to the Director of Facilities concerning improvement which could lead to make more satisfied customers and/or increase volume of business or profit.

Operations
– Ensures the structures and equipment offered are of quality and are safe.
– Complete daily, weekly and monthly inspections of property and equipment.
– Yearly site close outs and perform full preventative maintenance.
– Proactive approach to guest comments/issues regarding disrepair, ensuring these are handled in timely and professional manner, meeting, or exceeding guest expectation.
– Ensure all site inventory is ready to be sold and close sites if unsafe or unpresentable.
– Meets regularly with the Director of Facilities to discuss operations.
– Monitor in site and building maintenance.
– Follow and adhere to all basecamp Policies.
– Perform any other related tasks as may be assigned by the Director of Facilities.

Property Management
– Manage day to day maintenance and upkeep.
– Work closely with the Director of Facilities, Campground Manager and campground team to ensure sites are ready for sale and the highest possible revenue is being generated.
– Maintain the landscaping of the property.
– Manage the snow removal; and salting of Sundance, keeping all information logged.
– Observe strict health and safety practices.
– Insist upon meticulous cleanliness and orderliness in maintenance shop and work site for health and safety purposes.

Job Requirements

- Be familiar with the operation and management of building, trappers tents, and tipi maintenance.
- Have well rounded skills to repair most items and knowing when to call in certified trades.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows – Outlook, Excel, Word.
- Team player.

Working Conditions
- Will be required to work weekends other day of the week and be flexible depending on the maintenance’s needs.
- Will be required to work in a fast­paced environment.
- Will be required to be accessible by phone.
- Will need a valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract.
