Position Overview
We’re looking for a full-time permanent Laundry Manager that will be responsible for the laundry team at our main laundry facility in Canmore, ensuring our properties have linens and towels required to operate. The Laundry Manager is responsible for the scheduling, recruitment, and training of all the Laundry Supervisors, Attendants and Drivers.
Salary: Dependent on experience
Full-time, Permanent
Shifts: 8-hour shifts
Accommodation: temporary staff accommodation is available.
Key Responsibilities:
HUMAN RESOURCES
– Retains a quality laundry service team, lead them to be the best team in our area and challenge yourself and team on a regular basis.
– Promotes the Basecamp brand
– Recruits high quality staff to add to our team
– Advertises and interviews candidates with the assistance of Regional General Manager
– Takes new staff through the Employee Handbook
– Takes the new hires through the training program and follows up weekly with them to ensure that they are providing the expected level of service
– Schedules staff and stays within the labor budget provided budget provided by head office
– Insists upon meticulous cleanliness and orderliness of all the properties
– Insists on personal cleanliness and proper deployment of all employees under your supervision including wearing of provided uniforms
– Ensure awareness of all regarding house rules and not only obeys them but assists in enforcing them; conduct yourself in such a manner to encourage fellow employees to do likewise
– Make suggestions to the Regional General Manager concerning improvements which would lead to make more satisfied customers and/ or increase volume of business or profit
– Follow and adhere to all Basecamp policies
– Assist with the creation of laundry service-related policies
– Performs any other related tasks as may be assigned by the Regional General Manager from time to time
OPERATIONS
– Ensures the products offered are of quality and the service provided is top notch.
– Leads by example, supervising the daily operations of the laundry team with the support of the Regional General Manager.
– Actively participates in daily tasks, including deliveries and linen management, while consistently maintaining a high standard of service.
– Hires, trains, encourages, supports, acknowledges, disciplines and terminates employees of the Laundry Service department
– Works with the Regional General Manager to create and maintain Laundry Service policies and procedures
– Proactive approach to comments / issues, ensuring these are handled in a timely and professional manner meeting or exceeding expectations
– Helps achieve departmental goals and contributes ideas for better guest satisfaction, colleague relations and revenue enhancement by providing motivational leadership
– Collaborates with partnered hotels to ensure linen requirements are met
– Oversees all areas of the hotel linen operations, acting upon urgent issues as required and reporting observations to the Regional General Manager
– Works in tandem with the Regional General Manager to ensure that all positions of the laundry department are covered 7 days a week
– Ensure the Maintenance Manager is updated on any repairs or deficiencies to laundry facilities and equipment
– Monitors inventory levels and submits order requests for laundry supplies as needed.
– Communicate shortages supplies to the Regional General Manager

Job Requirements
- Proficient in sorting, washing, drying, folding.
- Attention to detail: Meticulous in ensuring garments are stain-free and neatly folded.
- Skilled at multitasking, managing loads, and completing tasks promptly while maintaining high quality.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Clean drivers abstract with at least 3 years of driving experience with a Canadian license.
- Be familiar with the operation of commercial laundry machines
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows – Outlook, Excel, Word
- A solid understanding of pricing, budgets and cost controls
