Job Description
Community Engagement Library Assistants are crucial in both front-line and behind-the-scenes services in Banff Public Library. Community Outreach Library Assistants play a critical role in providing programming, interacting, and advocating for the library in and outside of the library. They have the additional task of creating, planning, and implementing core children’s library programming necessary to meet the goals of the library’s Plan of Service.
Job Duties:
Create, develop, and implement dynamic programming for children.
Administration
Suggest improvements to procedures or processes.
Act as Library representative on committees or organizations as required.
Attend program and outreach meetings, as necessary.
Other projects as assigned.
Patron Service
Create and implement library programming in consultation with full time staff
Have a strong understanding of the Banff and Bow Valley community.
Coordinate to develop programs that include or speak to the specific needs of equity-seeking groups.
Conduct Library Tours

Job Requirements
Require a post-secondary education or equivalent life experience.
Additional experience in creating, developing, and implementing dynamic programming for children.
A desire to develop skills and acquire knowledge.
A second language is a strong asset.
