Job Description

We’re seeking a Jr. Sous Chef to join us at Balkan! Fresh Mediterranean in the heart of Banff. From fresh pita wraps to mouthwatering souvlaki & plenty of vegetarian options, prepare your taste buds for fun & flavourful Mediterranean dishes paired perfectly with vibrant cocktails and fruity spirit-free drinks. What You’ll Do:

-Support the Chef in leading and mentoring the kitchen team
-Ensure food quality, presentation, and kitchen efficiency meet company standards
-Oversee food preparation, organization, and cleanliness of the kitchen
-Manage inventory levels, place orders, and ensure supplies are on time and within budget
-Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and compliance with safety regulations
-Train staff and foster a strong team culture

Job Requirements

-2-3 years of culinary experience required
-Previous supervisory kitchen experience is an asset
-Food Safety certification (training provided if needed)
-Understanding of kitchen procedures and staff training best practices
-Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure
-Proven team player with a talent for uniting and motivating others
-Excellent communicator who values a positive workplace culture
-Flexible schedule required
