We’re seeking a Jr. Sous Chef to join us at Balkan! Fresh Mediterranean in the heart of Banff. As a Jr. Sous Chef, you’ll support the Chef in leading the kitchen team and delivering top-quality food experiences. You’ll help manage kitchen operations, ensure prep and presentation meet our standards, and keep stations stocked and organized. You’ll assist with ordering, inventory, and waste control while maintaining food safety and storage protocols. You’ll also play a key role in training team members, improving performance, and helping recruit top kitchen talent.

Job Requirements
-2-3 years culinary experience is required
-Prior experience in a supervisory kitchen role is an asset
-You have knowledge of best practices for training kitchen staff and implementing kitchen procedures
-Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, and while you may be feeling stressed on the inside you remain calm and collected for the team
-You're not only an amazing team player but also have a knack for bringing others together to work towards a common goal
-Connecting with people and building trusting relationships comes easy to you
-You have excellent communication skills and understand the importance of effective communication and workplace culture
-Ability to take a step back to look at things from other perspectives and be open to a different way
-Ability to work with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
