Job Description

We’re looking for a motivated full-time, permanent Painter to join our team located in Exshaw, Alberta, completing and supporting the team indoors in the shop. The main responsibilities are to provide staining and painting with some shop tasks.

At WPTF we combine traditional German and Canadian timber frame joinery and materials with the latest in technology and innovation on the worldwide market. Together with high standards in green building, efficiency, and sustainability, we create legacy buildings and structures.

Main Activities:
– Prepare, clean and sand timbers
– Apply all staining to the wood product in the shop using a brush, roller or staining machine
– Managing stain inventory
– Creating colour samples for customers and making sure chosen product matches the wood-applied stain
– Ensure the shop is cleaned regularly and maintained after staining
– Providing product orders to the shipper/receiver once complete
– Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Experience & Qualifications:

- A minimum of 1-5 years of painting/staining experience
- Journeyman painter is preferred
- Forklift and skid steer training will be provided
- First Aid and WHIMIS is an asset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible with changing directions
- Attention to detail and good hand-eye coordination
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to drive to the shop in Exshaw, Alberta daily
