Job Description
Porters or Food Runners provide an outstanding experience for our guests by working closely with kitchen and serving staff to ensure meals are brought and cleared away in an efficient and timely manner.
This is a physical position requiring manual labour, lifting, and carrying.
Job Requirements
Essential Functions:
Provide excellent guest service
Deliver and clear away meals efficiently in a high volume and fast-paced environment
Helping with Expediting, checking food quality, and communicating between FOH and BOH
Helping to set up catered events, and group lunches
Working shifts as a host to greet our guests and seat them quickly and efficiently
Assist with setting up tables, delivering food and beverages to the table, clearing dishes and glasses, & re-setting the table
Assist with tear down, closing duties, and maintaining public spaces for guests including washrooms
Help to clean common areas including entrances, dinning area, bar, & washrooms.
Adhere to workplace safety and food safety/sanitation regulations
Other duties as assigned including shifts in other locations.
Experience/Requirements:
Passion for providing outstanding guest service
Previous restaurant experience
Strong self-initiative with a positive and friendly attitude
Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork skills
Ability to lift (10kg.), pull & push heavy loads & be exposed to extreme temperatures
Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written English
Great Customer Service
Additional Considerations:
Employees must always be of sound mind, exhibit good judgment, and report to work fit for duty.
This position works at high altitude and at times, in inclement weather. Prolonged periods of standing, repetitive motions, bending and twisting is required.
