Radventures is a small-group, premium adventure tour operator delivering guided experiences year-round within Banff National Park and the surrounding Canadian Rockies. The company provides professionally guided, vehicle-based tours that combine interpretation, safe transportation, and high service standards to create well-managed experiences for domestic and international visitors across both summer and winter seasons.

As an Experienced Adventure Tour Guide, you will play a key role in the day-to-day delivery of these experiences. Guides are responsible for safely escorting guests to key destinations, delivering engaging and accurate interpretive commentary, managing daily itineraries, and adapting tours to changing weather, road, and wildlife conditions. This role requires a strong focus on guest safety, service quality, and operational reliability.

The Experienced Adventure Tour Guide position supports the company’s ongoing year-round operations and contributes directly to guest satisfaction and business continuity. Role-specific training and ongoing operational support are provided to ensure guides are able to meet company standards and deliver consistent experiences in all seasons.

Position Overview:

As an Experienced Adventure Tour Guide with Radventures, you will:
– Lead small-group, safe, and informative guided tours across Banff National Park and other national parks in the Canadian Rockies, delivering engaging and accurate interpretive commentary.
– Safely transport and escort guests between destinations using company passenger vehicles in accordance with Alberta regulations, Parks Canada guidelines, and company safety standards.
– Provide information on local history, geology, wildlife, and cultural points of interest.
– Manage daily tour itineraries, including timing, routing, scenic stops, and guest experience pacing.
– Deliver safety briefings and monitor guest wellbeing throughout each tour.
– Adapt tours in response to weather, road conditions, wildlife activity, and guest needs while maintaining service standards.
– Provide a high standard of professional customer service and support a positive group experience.
– Assist guests with photography, viewpoints, and memorable experience moments.
– Complete required pre- and post-tour vehicle safety checks and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
– Work closely with the Operations and Reservations teams to confirm schedules, guest counts, and special requests.

Job Requirements

Requirements of the job:
- At least 6 months of professional experience in guiding, tourism, hospitality, or a customer-facing role.
- English proficiency sufficient to communicate clearly with guests and deliver interpretive commentary.
- Valid driver’s licence with eligibility to obtain an Alberta Class 4 (commercial) licence.
- Clean driving record acceptable to company insurance requirements.
- Ability to safely transport and escort guests using company vehicles.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in variable weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physically able to perform the duties of the role, including standing, walking on uneven terrain, and assisting guests as needed.
- No formal education required; relevant experience considered an asset.

Assets (Preferred Qualifications):
- Current Alberta Class 4 driver’s licence.
- 4-season Apprentice Interpreter certification or equivalent interpretive training.
- Previous guiding experience in Banff National Park or other Canadian national parks.
- Familiarity with Parks Canada regulations, wildlife awareness, and visitor safety protocols.
- First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Experience operating passenger vehicles for guided tours.
- Additional language skills beyond English.
- Experience working with international guests and small-group premium tours.
