Job Description
Census Jobs:
Statistics Canada is now hiring for census jobs across Canada.
Census jobs require employees to go door to door to obtain completed questionnaires. Pay is $25.87 per hour for enumerators (non-supervisory positions) plus authorized expenses.
- The primary responsibility of enumerators is to collect completed census questionnaires from households.
- Enumerators must be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week on average, as determined by workload, with the majority of the work completed in the evenings and on weekends.
- Responsibilities include collecting data from respondents in person through door-to-door visits.
- Enumerators receive hourly compensation and are eligible to claim authorized expenses, such as mileage and parking.
- The employment period runs from May 2026 to July 2026, depending on the position and location.

To be considered for a job, you must:
Have reached the age of majority in your current province or territory of residence in provinces where the age of majority is 18: Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec and Saskatchewan.
Or provinces and territories where the age of majority is 19: British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, and Yukon.
Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, or possess a valid work permit
reside in Canada and have a Canadian home address.
