Job Description
Communications Officer supporting public relations, social media monitoring, and engagement for Banff National Park; drafting media statements and public-facing Q&As; managing Google My Business renewal tasks; tracking approvals for communications products; and assisting with photoshoots and special events.
Youth Employment & Skills Strategy (YESS) Positions for the Banff Field Unit
The Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS) is a Federal Government jobs initiative targeted at young Canadians aged 15 to 30. The purpose is to increase employment for youth, enabling them to gain work experience, skills, and to extend their networks. Parks Canada is committed to being a diverse and inclusive workplace by embracing this initiative, and encourages applications by youth facing barriers to employment, in particular Indigenous Canadians, members of a racialized community and persons living with disabilities
Who can apply? To be eligible, you must be:
· Between 15 and 30 years old.
· Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person who had been granted refugee status in Canada.
· Preference may be given to candidates who self-identify as, Indigenous Canadians, members of a racialized community and persons living with disabilities, as well as youth facing barriers to employment. We encourage you to self-identify in your application. 12 week term offers with possibility of extensions. Staff housing may be available.
Class 5 driver’s license or equivalent required.
