Job Description
Educational Assistants implement specialized services for children with a variety of learning needs. The successful candidate will be able to establish a positive rapport with children as well as maintaining effective working relationships with school personnel and outside agencies.
Location: Banff Child Care Centre
Wages: $24/hour
Full-time: 30 hours/week, Monday-Friday (8:30am-2:30pm)
Duration: December 2024-June 2025
Classroom Responsibilities:
-Assists children as directed by the teacher either in a group setting or with an individual child
-Encourages the development of positive self-esteem of children
-Implement, in consultation with the teacher, educational programming
-Monitor and document children’s progress
-Reinforce instructional strategies as directed by the teacher and IPP in programming for the diverse needs of the children.
Education/Experience:
-One or more years relevant experience or related post-secondary education
-CPR/first aid training considered an asset
-Experience working in a school environment
Skills/Attributes:
-Outstanding verbal/written communication skills
-Ability to establish a rapport with children
-Excellent organizational skills
-Ability to adapt and manage changing priorities
-Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with a team of educational professionals
*Candidate must have current Criminal Record & Vulnerable Sector check.
*Level 1 Early Childhood Educator certification is beneficial and may be require in some locations.
